Andy and I decided to make a button box for my dog to press when he wants to go out.
We planned to use “box teeth” to put the box together, reducing the need for glue. But, if it can’t be rectangular… we had to be creative. We realized that the corner of a rectangular box makes a nice pyramid, so we based our design off of that shape, with a flat top and an embellished bottom to make feet.
Our first prototype was scaled down and made of paper to check the angles, which worked. Our next step would have been cutting wood on the laser cutter, but when it broke we resorted to cutting it by hand out of foam core. Truth is, I actually like the foam core version a lot!
